The most weird-the equestrian statue of St. Wentzlas in the Czech Republic
The most magnificent-Mongolian horse-riding statue of Genghis Khan
This 40-meter-high, 250-ton stainless steel statue is by far the largest equestrian statue of Genghis Khan in the world. It is located in Erden County,
an hour’s drive fromUlaanbaatar, and was completed in 2008.
Visitors can take the elevator to the sightseeing platform on top of the horse’s head, and look at the endless prairie. This statue is part of a proposed
nomadic style theme park, where visitors can experience the eating and living habits of nomads and eat horse meat. Just 20 years ago, the Mongolian
government governed by a communist party banned any commemoration of Genghis Khan. However, under the impact of the wave of nationalism,
the portrait of Genghis Khan can be seen everywhere in Mongolia’s airports, universities and even vodka bottles.
The closest to the people-Statue of the Duke of Wellington
This statue commemorates Arthur Wellesley, the first Duke of Wellington who defeated Napoleon in the Battle of Waterloo.
It stood on Queen’s Road in Glasgow in 1844. For some reason, in the past 20 years, it has attracted some people’s pranks.
These late-night street gangsters would climb up the statue from time to time and put a traffic cone on the top of the Duke’s head. Local citizens believe that
the road cone can therefore be regarded as an integral part of the statue, or a symbol of Glasgow. But the government does not seem to agree with this
statement. Municipal workers will use high-pressure water jets to wash down the road cones, and the police will warn people that they will be prosecuted
for spoofing the statue.
But the public still turned a deaf ear to this, and in a sense encouraged the spoofers.
The most modern-British “TheKelpies” (horse-shaped water ghost)
This modern sculpture was completed by the Forth and Clyde Canal in Falkirk, central Scotland. This pair of horse heads has become the world’s largest horse
head sculpture. It is named after a super-powered seahorse in Celtic mythology, and the public will be able to walk inside the two horse heads.
The most exquisite-Chinese “Horse Stepping on Feiyan”
Ma Ta Feiyan is a bronze ware of the Eastern Han Dynasty, which was unearthed in Leitai Han Tomb in Wuwei City,
Gansu Province in 1969. Unearthed from the tomb of the military chief Zhang and his wife who guarded Zhangye
during the Eastern Han Dynasty, it is now in the Gansu Provincial Museum. Since the excavation, it has been
regarded as a symbol of the superb foundry industry in ancient China. In October 1983, “Horse Stepping on a
Flying Swallow” was identified as a Chinese tourism symbol by the National Tourism Administration.
From a mechanical analysis, the horse has three hoofs in the air, and only the hoof on the swallow is the center of
gravity. It is stable and ethereal, and romantically contrasts the vigorous and vigorous look of the horse. It is both
powerful and dynamic. Rhythm.
